Popular gaming company Xbox recently announced a raise of their Xbox
Game Pass price to 30 dollars a month! This caused upset among gamers across the globe.
Even longtime supporters are questioning if the rising cost
matches the current quality and enjoyment offered.
YouTuber @SkillUp tweeted that the value is “starting to feel thin,”
especially with fewer major day-one releases.
While Game Pass still offers a wide selection, the price just feels harder to
justify without good improvements.
“If Xbox players are starting to lose interest, how long will they deal with the
new price?” Ricardo Ramirez (11) asked.
With a stir of emotions from many people, it’s clear the people are NOT happy. Let’s
take a look at what people have to say about the comparison to a different console, that
being PlayStation!
“Xbox should be on level with PlayStation prices, what if they can’t afford it?
Josias Lopez (11) asked. “They may be overdoing it, because PlayStation is
way cheaper and has just as good games.”
Xbox is really going to have to step up their game if they
want to satisfy their consumer’s needs.
“ My biggest concern is what will happen if the new prices don’t work, and
they decide to remove the game pass as a whole.” Kaleb Gugin (11) says.
And we can say with certainty they’re not the only one who feels this way.
“ I don’t think that the new price is going to attract more people to buy it. So,
they should just take a step back if they want to keep the money flowing.”
Ethan Valverde (11) states.
This pushes us to question if Xbox was looking into the longterm impacts this decision will have on their products and subscribers or is it all just a quick money grab.
